Biography
Teimour Radjabov (azerb. Teymur Boris oğlu Rəcəbov; born March 12, 1987, in Baku of Azerbaijan SSR. Grandmaster since 2001. Semifinalist of the 2004 World Championship. Three-time winner of the European Team Championship (2009, 2013, 2017) as part of team Azerbaijan. Winner of the 2019 World Cup.

Peak rating is 2793 (as of November 2012). His current rating is 2765 (as of February 2020). He is number ten in the world.

Radjabov is one of the youngest world players to have earned the GM title. It happened in 2001, when he was aged 14 years and 14 days. Since 2001, Radjabov has been part of elite GM tournaments. He has been among the top 100 grandmasters since January 2002, when he was ranked 93rd.

In 2003, he became the first in the world to defeat three world champions in the course of one year. Thus, Radjabov defeated Ruslan Ponomarev in Wijk aan Zee, Garry Kasparov in Linares, and Viswanathan Anand in Dortmund.

He went down to Vladimir Kramnik in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Candidates. Participating in the 2013 Candidates Tournament in London, he finished at the last eighth place with 4 out of 14.

In January 2008, he won the ACP Rapid Cup in Odessa after defeating Alexander Grischuk in the final.

Having defeated Ding Liren on October 4, 2019, Teimour Radjabov became winner of the World Cup taking place in Khanty-Mansiysk.
